What: Kansas Early Literacy Symposium

Time: 8:30 – 4:00

Cost: $20, includes handouts, refreshments and lunch. Pay in cash at the door. No invoices will be sent, but printed receipts will be provided.

Objective: This engaging session will bring together early childhood educators and library and museum professionals who work with families of children aged birth through Kindergarten.

Schedule of Events

8:30am to 4pm at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library

8:30am – Registration

9am – Welcome and Opening Notes

9:30am-12:30pm

● Mind in the Making: promoting and practicing executive function life skills
● Family Engagement: best practices, given a pandemic

12:30-1:30pm – Lunch

1:30-2pm – Check In and Reflection

2-3:45pm – Engineering and Empathy: helping children explore STEM concepts

3:45-4pm – Announcements, Evaluations and Farewell
