Interlibrary loan is a valuable service that provides library patrons in the North Central Kansas Libraries region access to materials not available at their local libraries. Materials are provided by other member libraries of the North Central Kansas Libraries system, as well as other libraries throughout Kansas and out-of-state libraries.
All libraries must comply with copyright laws and related guidelines.
LOAN PERIODS AND FEES
Materials may be borrowed for the length of time designated by the lending library and should be returned to them by the specified due date. There are generally no fees for interlibrary loan services; however, fees may be charged by out-of-state libraries. The borrowing library is responsible for return postage.
LOST ITEMS
If an item is lost, either in return mail or by the patron and attempts to locate the item have failed, the borrowing library should consult the Materials & Replacement Fund for more information.
Remember to keep the lending library informed of the situation.
DAMAGED ITEMS
If material is returned to the borrowing library damaged, the library should follow their policy on damaged materials. The item and the funds for replacement should be sent to the lending library.
