Free and Affordable Apps for Accessibility Webinar

NCKLS Is Hosting a Watch Party for the Free and Affordable Apps for Accessibility Webinar

ipadWhen: Thursday, March 26, 2015: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

The Association for Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) is presenting a webinar to help librarians learn about the apps that can make libraries more accessible to patrons with disabilities.

NCKLS is offering this webinar onsite in Manhattan. We will also offer a CE grant of $25 towards covering the $38 individual login fee for librarians who are unable to attend in Manhattan.

Please register for the event with Melendra Sanders by Monday, March 16th.

Webinar Description: This webinar focuses on free or low cost apps useful in serving special populations of all ages. Such apps add an option to library services already in place to serve special populations. Library staff can use special needs apps such as a communication board, understanding and using sign language, and magnification to provide services. Many apps are useful in training library staff to better serve adults and youth who are blind or have low vision, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, those with communication issues, those diagnosed with autism, and so on. For more information about the webinar, visit the webinar description on the ASCLA website.
