The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) enforces federal minimum wage, overtime pay. recording keeping , and child labor requirement of the Fair Labor Standards Act. WHD also enforces the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage garnishment provision of the Consumer Credit Protection Act, and a number of employment standards and worker protections as provided in statuses.

This information is designed to help employers and individuals determine effective accommodations and comply with Title I of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). You will find ADA information, accommodation ideas, and resources for additional information.
JAN’s A to Z is a starting point in the accommodation process and may not address every situation. Accommodations should be made on a case by case basis, considering each employee’s individual limitations and accommodation needs. Employers and individuals are encourage to contact JAN to discuss specific situations in more details.
