Sunflower eLibrary
What is the Sunflower eLibrary?
Sunflower eLibrary went live Nov 2, 2011, with 10 libraries. Today there are 182 public libraries/System libraries in the consortium. In 2022, the NCKLS Executive Committee authorized a Digital Resources Grant allowing all libraries in taxing counties to offer this digital library of ebooks and audiobooks to their patrons. The Sunflower eLibrary saves money and expands local library collections in our region. Libraries in the consortium buy titles serving local users first, then share with the rest of the state. This allows users access to thousands of additional titles, far beyond what most libraries can physically keep.
Statistics to support the impact of this resource:
- 4.5 million checkouts from 159 libraries
- 85,085 unique users since inception
- 1.384 million holds since inception
What’s in the current collection?
- 63,759 Titles and 81,260 copies of eBooks
- 9,155 Titles and 16,650 copies of Audiobooks
- 72,914 titles and 97,910 copies in collection
The digital materials available in the Sunflower eLibrary include newly published materials and bestsellers in both fiction and non-fiction. It includes a great collection of adult, youth and children’s titles – something for all ages!
